Don’t miss the Hawaii Sheep and Goat Association’s annual workshop.

Dr. Woody Lane, a nationally-known Livestock Nutritionist and Forage Specialist will present field and classroom instruction on:

MANAGEMENT INTENSIVE GRAZING
NUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES IN FORAGE-BASED DIETS
TECHNOLOGY TOOLS FOR SMALL FARMERS

Friday features a field session at two area farms: one goat operation and one sheep operation. On Saturday we will recap the field visit and discuss forage test results and what they mean. You are encouraged to bring feed and/or mineral tags and your own forage test results, if you have them. If you would like to get your forage tested the Dairy One forage lab has tests available. Dr. Lane recommends you request the “10” and “59” analyses. Click Here for more information.

When: Friday and Saturday, October 31 and November 1, 2014. Starting at 9am, and ending at 5pm each day. Friday includes field visits, so be prepared for weather and bring a chair if you would like to.

Cost: $50.00 for registration by October 15. $75.00 for registration after October 15, or at the door.
